Rafting Safety Valais
In all outdoor adventure activities, risk is present. For us, the safety of our customers is paramount. In order to minimise these risks as much as possible, we have developed a safety management system validated by Edelcert - ISO 21101:2014, ISO 21102: 2020, ISO 21103: 2014.
Our management system is stricter than the legal requirements and consists of four axes:
The composition of the runs
The Rhône is a river with a large volume of water. Therefore, we apply international safety standards.
We work with safety kayaks that accompany the raft, allowing us to recognise and adapt to river conditions at all times.
The staff
Our guides all have international diplomas (IRF, Firaft) in addition to the level II guide diploma issued by the Swiss Outdoor Association. In addition, they work all year round. Their level of expertise on the river is equivalent to that of our mountain guides on our summits. They are also all Rescue3 certified, as well as BLS-AED and first aid certified. The material
Valais-Wallis Adventures uses high quality, up-to-date, well-maintained and CE-approved material and equipment for its clients, in accordance with Swiss legislation.
Accident protocols
Each year, before the start of the season, the evacuation plan is sent to the OCVS (Organisation Cantonale Valaisanne des Secours) and made available to the emergency health regulators (RUS) of the 144 centre. Our canton is equipped with a very efficient medical emergency system (land and air resources). Our company works in close collaboration with the OCVS
Our first aid equipment is reviewed every year with local ambulance drivers, so that we work with the same equipment. This equipment is replaced every year.
Each convoy of rafts has a first aid bag with a protocol described in French and English.
Edelcert carries out a control audit every year and a full audit every 3 years.
